A Right Honorable Gentleman     by:     Courtney Milan

BLURB:

Miss Catherine Hooks is one of the best governesses in all of England; her employer, the Right Honorable Edward Glennon, is one of the busiest men. The fact that they’ve fallen in love is immaterial. Honorable people in their situation do not mention such things. But Edward’s son is on the verge of leaving for school, and when Cat asks for the only thing she can demand under the circumstances—a reference and help finding a new position—she discovers that even a right honorable gentleman has his limits…

Note: A Right Honorable Gentleman is a short story of about 7,000 words, and it was previously published in the anthologyPremiere.

Lingerie:  Adore Me                                  Regency Phrase: Toad-eaten = Flattered and made up to

Dark Navy Blue and fits like a comfortable slip. In my world you can't go wrong with polka dots and this easy flowing slip is graced with them. Legs tucked under and a nice fire is called for with this week's lingerie pick and Courtney Milan's short story is just the thing. Adorning the bodice and the edge of the skirting is a measure of delightful lace. It's a wonderful cross between lingerie and lounge wear.

Cuddling Up

I couldn't resist reading another book in the Ravenals series by Lisa Kleypas. She has won a favored place in my heart. I've enjoyed everything I've read by this author. I hope you love this book as much as I have....I couldn't wait. I've already read it!

Devil in Spring     by:     Lisa Kleypas

BLURB:

An eccentric wallflower  . . .
Most debutantes dream of finding a husband. Lady Pandora Ravenel has different plans. The ambitious young beauty would much rather stay at home and plot out her new board game business than take part in the London Season. But one night at a glittering society ball, she’s ensnared in a scandal with a wickedly handsome stranger.

A cynical rake . . .
After years of evading marital traps with ease, Gabriel, Lord St. Vincent, has finally been caught by a rebellious girl who couldn’t be less suitable. In fact, she wants nothing to do with him. But Gabriel finds the high-spirited Pandora irresistible. He’ll do whatever it takes to possess her, even if their marriage of convenience turns out to be the devil’s own bargain.

A perilous plot  . . .
After succumbing to Gabriel’s skilled and sensuous persuasion, Pandora agrees to become his bride. But soon she discovers that her entrepreneurial endeavors have accidentally involved her in a dangerous conspiracy—and only her husband can keep her safe. As Gabriel protects her from their unknown adversaries, they realize their devil’s bargain may just turn out to be a match made in heaven . . .

Lingerie:   Adore Me                                                        Regency Phrase: Well-inlaid = Rich

This book's lingerie match was made before I finished the book! But after reading it I can't believe how close I've come to making the perfect choice. There is a delightful scene, after the midway point, where our heroine is caught in her corset. You'll have to read to find out. As for this corset, it is perhaps the most comfortable thing I've ever tried on. The champagne color is simply gorgeous and the lace is made of cotton so that it's heavy enough to lay flat. Easy lacing up the back need only be done once because the front is closed with a placket of hook and eye. I believe this is still available at AdoreMe and I highly recommend it. What a lovely Valentine month pick this is.

Love Is In The Air

We start off February, the month of love, with a huge debut from the eagerly anticipated author, Renee Ann Miller. I can't tell you how many times I had to endure reading reviews from ARC readers on this one and salivating over its release. This promises to be a steamy historical read. I've had this one on pre-order for 2 months.

FIRST IN THE INFAMOUS LORDS Series:
Never Dare a Wicked Earl    by:       Renee Ann Miller

BLURB:

They are the infamous lords, unrepentant rogues whose bad behavior makes for good gossip among the ton. But these sexy scoundrels have stories no one knows. And it takes a special touch to reveal the true hearts behind their devilish disguises . . .

Known as a brazen philanderer, Hayden Milton, Earl of Westfield, is almost done in by a vengeful mistress who aims a gun at a rather essential part of his anatomy—but ends up wounding his thigh instead. Recuperating in his London townhouse, Hayden is confronted by his new medical attendant. Sophia Camden intrigues him, for behind her starched uniform is an enticing beauty better suited for bedding than dispensing salves and changing bandages.

Unshaken by his arrogance, not to mention impropriety, Sophia offers Hayden a dare: allow her ten days to prove her competency. If she resigns in exasperation like her two predecessors, she will be beholden to this wicked seducer. As a battle of wills begins, Sophia finds herself distracted by the earl’s muscular physique . . . and discovers that the man within longs only for a second chance to love.

Lingerie by: AdoreMe         Regency Phrase: Too ripe and ready by half = Always up to something ;)

This reads lingerie is such a beautiful piece. It's elegant and sexy. It's demure and naughty. It's sweet and steamy. The perfect pairing for this debut novel. The bodice is made of black stretch lace with the sweetest color of blushing pink so beautifully embossed that it almost shimmers. Matching satin ribbon sewn into the empire waistline and gathered with a tiny bow, pulls together the soft gathered chiffon tulle. It moves freely and the straps stay put. This Valentine's Day wear emphasis all the right places and is a complimentary style for any shape.
