Cocoa Please...

This week I plan on sitting back and reading. No writing, no editing, just reading. This week I feature all the books I've read since opening the Boudoir and give a hearty thank you to those who've read along and cheered me on.

It's been a wonderful year! I've met some new friends and found some new authors. This year's lingerie has featured Victoria's Secret; AdoreMe; and Old Navy. I can't wait to see what the New Year has in store. I'm always looking for nice boutiques and would love to feature some local vendors. Among the lingerie M2 Vinter Inc. donated a lovely bottle of wine for Liana De La Rosa's debut book.

this weeks PJ's

This weeks jammies are a gift from my sister. Oh how she knows me so well. The Llama pj's hail from Old Navy and the great box framed picture is from my husband.

It's been lovely sharing this with you. Enjoy the gallery of pics from this year and have a Happy Holiday.

DECEMBER BOUDOIR READ

12/01  TO  12/16

"The Bad Luck Bride"    &   "The Bride Who Got Lucky"
Cavensham Heiresses series.
by: Janna MacGregor

BLURB:

The Bad Luck Bride:
No one is left breathless at the imperious pronouncement of her engagement to Lord Pembrooke more than Claire. She hardly knows the dangerously outrageous man! But after three engagements gone awry and a fourth going up in glorious flames, she isn’t in a position to refuse...

Alexander requires the hand of his enemy’s fiancée in marriage in order to complete his plans for revenge. It’s his good fortune that the “cursed” woman is desperate. However, what begins as a sham turns into something scandalously deeper...

The Bride Who Got Lucky:
He would do anything to protect her. Even marry her…

The son of a cold-hearted duke, Nicholas St. Mauer isn’t one to involve himself in society…or open his own heart to anyone. But driven by honor, the reclusive Earl of Somerton feels obliged to keep a watchful eye on Lady Emma Cavensham. She possesses a penchant for passions unbecoming a woman that finds Nick in constant peril of losing his well-structured solitude. She even dared kiss Nick once—an utterly unladylike, and delightful, lapse…

Emma can’t deny the appeal of the earl’s attention, and occasional affection, but she has no need for a man. There are worse fates than spinsterhood, as Emma knows too well. She still mourns the loss of her dear friend Lena, and is determined to prove Lena’s husband responsible for her death before he lures another innocent woman into a brutal marriage. But as Emma pursues her prey, a compromising moment upends all her plans. Now, with gossip swirling and her reputation in tatters, Nick may be the only man brave enough to join in Emma’s cause. . .and fight for her heart.

Lingerie by: Victoria's Secret                         Regency Phrase: Civil Whiskers = Polite small talk

One of my absolute favorites is this soft gray and white lace baby doll. The chiffon skirting is ideal for every figure and the halter style is a bit of Marilyn Monroe. While reading Emma and Nick's story in "The Bride Who Got Lucky" I couldn't stop thinking about this lovely feminine lace nighty. Of course you can't go wrong with white for a wedding, and add some lovely white stockings, and the whole outfit radiates pure delight. Passionate and comfy, the best of both worlds.

Cold Feet, Warm Heart...

Marlow Kelly has some memorable lines in this thriller/mystery romance. The one that hooked me even before I opened it:

*** He rolled his eyes. "Where are my manners? The next time someone's trying to kill you, I'll just politely as if you'd like to get in my truck. Do you want me to curtsey while I'm at it?" ***

I do love some good banter!

OCTOBER BOUDOIR READ

10/12  To  10/25

"Sun Storm" by: Marlow Kelly

BLURB:

Dr. Marie Wilson is a scientist on the verge of a breakthrough. She has come to Montana on the eve of a blizzard to prove her small, portable solar panel can generate electricity even in the harshest environment. But when four men invade her remote cabin with plans to kill her, she knows she’s in trouble.

Ex-Special Forces soldier, David Quinn, has had enough of danger and death. All he wants is to be left alone on his Montana acreage to pursue his dream of being a beekeeper. But when his old mentor convinces him to help retrieve a stolen solar panel, he thinks it will be a simple job. But the moment he sets eyes on Marie, he knows their assignment is all kinds of wrong.

Can a cynical soldier and a naive scientist learn about love and trust in order to survive?

Lingerie by: Book Boyfriend                Regency Phrase: Cock-Sure = Proud and confident
Socks from: Sock Shop

Who doesn't love a boyfriend shirt to wear while lounging or sipping a nice glass of wine? Or to sleep in? This shirt has been around almost as long as my real life book boyfriend. I haven't a clue where he purchased it. I only know that he hasn't worn it for quite some time... This month's book our heroine Marie Wilson sports some perfectly pretty in pink long johns. When I read this, it made me wish I owned a set of pink long johns. The closest I get to this kind of comfy is my boyfriend button-up.

Let me apologize now for all the entries coming this winter with socks in them.  I have fallen in love with the over the knee-hi socks or thigh high socks, whichever you prefer. They're warm and wonderful and kind of sexy. These winter blue beauties were purchased from the Sock Shop located on Haight Street, San Francisco. After a lovely getaway to the beach, we stumbled upon this shop. I could have stayed there all day. Five pair later, and I'm still anticipating my return visit. Next best thing: they have a webpage!
